PRESS RELEASE º2
After having a successful and exciting expedition last month on Islote Pájaros IOTA SA-100 (3G1P), I am pleased to report that the San Ambrosio (CE0X) project continues with important progress in the mission to put this exciting and rare entity “ON AIR”. A few days ago, I participated in two important meetings with the authorities responsible for granting permits and authorizations for this expedition to the Desventuradas Islands, so I’m in position to share the following information: Dates: The authorized dates for this Dx-Activity will be between January 12, 2026, and February 15, 2026, which represents at least 25 days of operation on the island. Permits and Authorizations: Permits and authorizations will be issued by the competent authorities’ weeks before the expedition begins and will then be sent to both the ARRL and the NCDXF for validation and approval, toward DXCC credits. QSL Manager: The QSL Manager for all QSOs from San Ambrosio will be TIM M0URX, who has extensive experience and a reputation for managing important expeditions. Please review the QSL confirmation request policy on TIM's website www.M0URX.com systems such as OQRS, LoTW, and Mailed QSLs will be available. Remote Station: Renner PY7RP continues to lead the remote team and their efforts to put into operation a remote station, which will be focused on making CW/FT8 QSOs, the remote station will be operational 24/7 throughout the Dx-Activity. I am pleased to announce that Cezar VE3LYC has joined the team as Senior Advisor. His extensive and successful career in amateur radio will undoubtedly be of great help in making this DX-Activity a success. Bands: I can confirm that operation will be on bands from 160 to 6m in SSB, CW and FT8 modes. Logistics: More than 78% of the equipment, tools and supplies required for this operation have been acquired and will begin shipping in the coming weeks to Robinson Crusoe Island (CE0Z), which will be the departure point for San Ambrosio Is. (CE0X). Felipe XQ7IR San Ambrosio Project Team Leader
